Discipline
Good Morning,
In today's newsletter, I will be talking about discipline and sharing some practices you can adopt to elevate the amount of progress you make on a day-to-day basis.
Disciplined individuals provide themselves with rules that allow them to live their lives more efficiently. These rules are often tailored to bring individuals closer to their goals. We find that discipline is the first step in forming beneficial habits, which upgrade your daily routines.
Those who have mastered discipline will follow their rules no matter what scenario they find themselves in - compounding their progress daily. Here are some ways you can start building up your discipline today:
Eliminate Distractions
When focusing on a tough task or an important assignment, some of us make the mistake of allowing distractions to infiltrate our focus. Turn your phone off. Leave it in another room if you have to. Get into the habit of eliminating your distractions rather than fighting them, and the successful path ahead of you will become clearer by the day.
2. Invest Time Into Your Passion
When you do things that you are passionate about, you'll find that discipline becomes less of a problem. Whether the tasks within this passion are simple or complex will not matter, as your devotion to the bigger picture outweighs fears and doubts. As long as this passion lives, discipline will come naturally.
3. Making The Hard Decisions
We have all been in a situation where the right choice is not exactly the easiest, but how many can say they still chose to do what was best for them? Every time you take the easier counterproductive route you are failing yourself. I'm not saying just take the hardest path for the sake of it, but when that path brings you nearer to your goals, you must be prepared to take it.
4. Take Action
The simplest way you can become more disciplined is by taking action. Throw yourself in the deep end and struggle until you learn how to swim. This may be a daunting concept, but what's scarier: failing, learning and adapting or not taking action and never reaching your potential? The choice is yours.
