We need to differentiate between Ambition and Expectation. You can have Any ambition you want but have the right expectation. We need to differentiate between ambition and expectation. Ambition is what will get us to thrive and strive further in life. eg, I set out to have 1000 subscribers by June but I have 550 and counting at this time of writing. That is great! but I needed to remember that on average it takes 6 months to build 1000 subscribers on daily finance and I was not going to get there. The expectation is clear. My Expectation is that I can educate as many people as I can and give out as much knowledge as I can, if that fails then if only 2 people learn something new then that is an amazing day because if your expectation is right nothing will hinder your happiness. You can have the highest ambition but have realistic expectations. A lot of us put so much pressure on ourselves and expect to be millionaires by 20 and have kids by 23 and a canary wharf apartment at 24 because social media tells us this. This will then cause anxiety and the feeling of failure within us because we are not following the “Social media” rules. Social media is A FACADE!!!!!, people only put out what they want YOU to see but that is a different conversation for another day.
When setting up an ambition AVOID junk food and I do not mean literal junk food. Society tells you what SHOULD make you happy and when you follow the promise that they told you, you realise that it does not make you happy which you then go on this fake journey of happiness. For eg, Society tells you that a £1000 trainer will make you happy, you use your hard-earned money and you get it. Then after 3 days, you will see that the Trainer did not make you happy you then get a different colour £1000 trainer and it will not make you happy then the cycle continues. The reason why I am telling you this is because when setting out an ambition make sure you do not fall into the trap of saying “My ambition is A Ferrari” because I can promise you that will be the most anti-climatic thing you ever experienced. Make sure your ambition aligns with your values as a person and not what social media tells you what your ambition should be.
